Understanding the Core Progression Loop

In Crude Oil, you start as a small, sentient puddle of oil fleeing from corporate hunters. Your primary goal is to grow by consuming more oil, which increases your size, abilities, and access to new areas. The progression system is built around a cycle of collecting, upgrading, and expanding.

Key early goals:

• Reach a mass of 50 units to unlock the "Slam" ability.
• Find and consume three hidden oil deposits to trigger the first upgrade node.
• Escape the starting swamp through the eastern pipeline.

Once you reach 50 mass, you can perform a ground slam that stuns nearby enemies and breaks cracked floors. This opens up new paths and hidden caches of oil.
