Save File Location

BUNNYBastion stores your progress locally on your PC. The default save file location is:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\LastWallGames\BUNNYBastion\

You can quickly access this folder by pressing Windows Key + R, pasting the path above, and hitting Enter. Inside, you'll find a file named save.dat which contains all your progression data, including unlocked characters, upgrades, currency, and completed runs.

If you are using a different installation drive or a Steam library on another disk, the save path remains the same — it is tied to your Windows user profile, not the game's installation folder. This is standard for Unity-based games like BUNNYBastion.

How to Backup Your Save

Backing up your save file is essential to prevent losing progress due to corruption, reinstallation, or switching computers. Follow these simple steps:

1. Navigate to the save folder using the path above.
2. Copy the entire BUNNYBastion folder or just the save.dat file.
3. Paste it into a safe location, such as your Documents folder, an external drive, or cloud storage like Google Drive or OneDrive.

To restore a backup, simply replace the save.dat file in the original folder with your backup copy. Make sure the game is closed before doing this to avoid conflicts.

Transferring Saves Between PCs

If you want to continue your BUNNYBastion adventure on a different computer, transferring your save is straightforward:

• On your old PC, locate and copy the save.dat file (or the entire folder).
• On your new PC, install BUNNYBastion and run it at least once so the save folder is created.
• Paste your backed-up save file into the same directory, overwriting the existing one.

Steam Cloud does not currently support BUNNYBastion, so manual transfer is the only method. Always ensure both systems meet the system requirements to avoid performance issues after the transfer.

Troubleshooting Save Issues

If you encounter problems with your save file, such as the game not loading your progress or crashing on startup, try these solutions:

• Verify file integrity: Right-click BUNNYBastion in your Steam library, go to Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. This will check and repair any corrupted game data.
• Delete and restore: If verification doesn't help, delete the save.dat file from the save folder, then restore from your latest backup. This is often the quickest fix.
• Antivirus interference: Some antivirus software may quarantine or block save file writes. Add an exception for the save folder in your antivirus settings.
• Run as administrator: Temporarily running the game as an administrator can resolve permission-related save issues.

Manual Save Editing (Advanced)

Advanced players may want to edit the save.dat file to modify currency amounts or unlock content. BUNNYBastion uses a JSON-like structure within the file, but it is not plain text. To edit it:

1. Make a backup of your original save.dat file.
2. Open the file with a text editor like Notepad++ or Visual Studio Code.
3. Look for values such as "currency", "unlocks", or "completedRuns".
4. Change the numbers as desired, then save the file.

Be cautious: incorrect edits can corrupt your save. Always keep a backup. If you corrupt your save, delete the file and let the game generate a new one, or restore from backup.

Steam Cloud and Future Updates

As of the launch on June 9, 2026, BUNNYBastion does not support Steam Cloud saves. The developers at Last Wall Games have stated that cloud saving may be added in a future update, but no timeline has been announced. Until then, manual backups are your best friend.

Keep an eye on the patch notes for any changes to save functionality. If cloud saving is implemented, your existing local saves should automatically sync.
