Daily and Weekly Events

Daily Cat Chase — Each day, a specific cat hides somewhere in a limited area of Catworld. You receive a hint from Ponpon at the Cat Cafe, and your task is to find and rescue that cat within 24 hours. Completing this grants Cat Treats and a small amount of Event Gems. Missing a day is not punishing — the next day simply offers a new cat.

Weekly Errand Board — Every Monday at reset, Ponpon posts five errand requests on the board outside the Cat Cafe. These might ask you to collect a certain number of magical yarn balls, visit three specific landmarks, or help a certain number of NPC cats. You have the full week to complete all five, and finishing at least three earns the weekly bonus reward — usually a rare decoration or a cosmetic item for your home hub.

Community Feedback Note: According to early player reports, the weekly errand board tends to favor exploration tasks over combat, fitting the game's cozy pace. If you focus on exploring new areas first, you will likely complete most errands naturally.

Launch Celebration Events

Chasing Whiskers officially launched on June 9/10, 2026, and the developers at Five High Cats have a launch celebration event running through late June.

Welcome to Catworld — New players automatically receive the Welcome to Catworld event tracker. Progress is measured by the number of unique cats you rescue. Milestone rewards include exclusive launch-themed furniture for your home, a special Portal Frame cosmetic, and a unique cat companion skin for the first cat you rescued. This event is not time-limited for individual players — you can complete it at your own pace, but the special promotional banner art will rotate out after June 30.

Grand Opening Gacha Boost — During the launch window, the probability of encountering a Rare cat in any given area is slightly increased. How They Work — When a limited-time rescue event is active, a new cat appears in a designated area of Catworld. Unlike regular cats, this cat has a specific trigger condition — you might need to offer a particular treat, solve a small environmental puzzle, or visit during a certain in-game time of day. The event lasts anywhere from 7 to 14 days.

What Makes Them Special — Limited-time cats come with unique cosmetic variants that cannot be obtained any other way. They also tend to have special animations or idle behaviors that standard cats lack. If you miss an event, the cat may return in a future rotation, but the exclusive cosmetic variant is usually gone for good.

How to Prepare — Limited-time events are announced via the in-game notice board next to the Cat Cafe entrance at least 48 hours before they begin. Ponpon's Recipe of the Week — Every week, Ponpon features a special drink recipe. Bringing the ingredients to Ponpon before the week ends rewards you with a Cafe Stamp. Cat Talent Show — This is a weekend-only event that runs from Friday reset to Sunday reset. You can enter up to three of your rescued cats into various categories: Fluffiest, Most Acrobatic, Best Napper, and so on. The winners are determined by a combination of how many treats you have fed that cat (its affection level) and a small random element. Even if your cat does not win first place, participation rewards include Cat Treats and Cafe Vouchers.

Tips for Cafe Events: Focus on feeding one or two cats consistently rather than spreading treats across your entire collection. A high-affection cat is much more likely to place well in the Talent Show, and having a single maxed-out cat also unlocks special dialogue options with Ponpon during Recipe of the Week events.

Event Currency and Rewards

Chasing Whiskers uses two primary event currencies that carry across most event types.

Event Gems — These are earned from daily and weekly events. They do not expire between events, so you can hoard them for a future event's exclusive shop. The Event Gem shop offers cosmetic items, special treats, and sometimes early access to new Catworld areas.

Cafe Vouchers — These are specific to Cat Cafe events. They do expire at the end of each Cafe Special rotation, so spend them before the week resets. Cafe Vouchers are best used on limited-time furniture sets and the Cafe Stamp card items, since those never return in the exact same form.

Milestone Tiers — Most events have a progression bar with 5 to 10 tiers. The final tier almost always rewards a unique cosmetic item or a cat variant that is permanently exclusive to that event. Prioritize Time-Sensitive Tasks First — When multiple events overlap, which they will especially during the launch window, focus on tasks with the shortest expiration. Daily Cat Chase and the limited-time rescue event expire sooner than the weekly errand board or the Cafe Talent Show.

Save Your Best Treats for Limited-Time Cats — Regular cats are always available. Limited-time rescue cats are not. If you have a stockpile of premium treats, use them during limited-time events to raise affection faster and unlock any special dialogue or cosmetic unlocks tied to high affection with the event cat.
