The save file itself is typically named savegame.dat or CoinPit_Save.sav. If you cannot locate the folder, ensure your system is set to show hidden files and folders, as the AppData directory on Windows and the Library folder on macOS are hidden by default.

How to Back Up Your Save

Regular backups protect your progress in CoinPit, especially before major updates or if you plan to reinstall the game. The process is simple and manual.

  1. Navigate to the save folder

  2. Copy the save file

Restoring a Saved Game

If you are restoring a save from another computer, make sure the save file is placed in the exact same directory path on the new machine. The game must be installed and launched at least once on the new system to generate the initial folder structure.
