Crafting is a core survival mechanic in Crownseeker. You won't find powerful gear lying around — you must scavenge, refine, and forge everything yourself. From basic tools to advanced relic-hunting equipment, mastering the crafting system is essential to survive the fog-shrouded world and claim the Crown. This guide covers every layer of crafting, from gathering resources to using the workbench and unlocking rare recipes.

Gathering Resources: The Foundation of Crafting

Before you can craft anything, you need raw materials. Resources are scattered across the map and vary by biome, time of day, and danger level.

• Wood and Stone: Found near trees and rocky outcrops. These are the most basic materials used for early tools and shelter upgrades.
• Metal Scraps: Looted from abandoned structures or defeated mechanical enemies. Essential for weapons and armor.
• Herbs and Plants: Gathered in forested areas. Used for healing salves and temporary buffs.
• Relic Shards: Rare drops from elite enemies or hidden caches. Required for high-end relic tools and the final Crown quest.
• Animal Parts: Obtained by hunting wildlife. Used for leather armor and food recipes.

The Workbench: Your Crafting Hub

Every crafting action happens at the workbench. You can build a workbench early in the game using 10 Wood and 5 Stone. Place it in your base or any safe zone.

Workbench Tiers

The workbench can be upgraded to unlock better recipes:

• Tier 1 Workbench: Basic tools, simple weapons, and cloth armor.
• Tier 2 Workbench: Metal weapons, leather armor, and healing items.
• Tier 3 Workbench: Advanced relic tools, reinforced armor, and special consumables.

To upgrade, you need specific materials and a certain character level. Check the upgrade tab at the workbench to see requirements.

1. Build Your First Workbench

   Gather 10 Wood and 5 Stone. Open your inventory and select the workbench blueprint. Place it in a safe location.

2. Craft Basic Tools

   Use the workbench to craft a Stone Pickaxe (5 Wood, 3 Stone) and a Stone Hatchet (5 Wood, 3 Stone). These double your gathering speed.

3. Upgrade to Tier 2

   Collect 20 Metal Scraps and 10 Wood. Interact with the workbench and select the upgrade option. This unlocks metal weapons and leather armor.

Crafting Weapons and Armor

Your survival depends on good gear. The crafting system offers three main categories: weapons, armor, and tools.

Weapons

• Melee Weapons: Swords, axes, and clubs. Crafted with Wood + Metal Scraps. Higher tiers deal more damage and have special effects like bleeding.
• Ranged Weapons: Bows and crossbows. Require Wood, String (from plants), and Metal Scraps. Ammo must also be crafted separately.
• Relic Weapons: Special weapons that deal bonus damage to fog creatures. Require Relic Shards and are only craftable at Tier 3.

Armor

• Cloth Armor: Low defense, easy to craft. Good for early exploration.
• Leather Armor: Medium defense, requires Animal Parts. Ideal for mid-game.
• Metal Armor: High defense, heavy. Reduces movement speed but offers excellent protection.
• Relic Armor: Best in slot. Provides resistance to fog corruption. Requires rare materials and a high-level workbench.

Consumables and Healing Items

Crafting isn't just about gear. You'll also need to create consumables to manage hunger, health, and status effects.

• Healing Salve: Herbs + Water. Restores 30 HP over 10 seconds.
• Bandage: Cloth + Herbs. Instantly heals 20 HP.
• Fog Antidote: Rare Herbs + Relic Shard. Removes fog corruption buildup.
• Cooked Meat: Raw Meat + Fire. Restores hunger and provides a temporary stamina buff.

Advanced Crafting: Relic Tools and the Crown

The ultimate goal in Crownseeker is to collect all relics and craft the Crown. This is the final crafting project.

Relic Tools

These tools are required to extract relics from their pedestals:

• Relic Pickaxe: Needed to mine relic crystals from special nodes.
• Relic Compass: Points toward the nearest undiscovered relic on the map.
• Relic Lantern: Illuminates hidden relic pedestals in dark areas.

All relic tools require Relic Shards and a Tier 3 workbench.

Crafting the Crown

Once you have collected all relics scattered across the map, an automatic recipe unlocks at your workbench. The Crown requires:

• 1 of each relic type (there are 7 in total)
• 50 Relic Shards
• 10 Gold Ingots (smelted from Gold Ore found in deep caves)

Tips for Efficient Crafting

• Plan ahead: Check recipe requirements before heading out. Gather everything in one trip to save time.
• Upgrade your workbench early: Tier 2 unlocks significantly better gear and is worth the investment.
• Smelt ores at a furnace: You need to build a separate furnace to turn raw ore into ingots. Place it near your workbench.
• Don't hoard materials: Use lower-tier materials to craft gear early. Stockpiling too long can leave you underpowered.
• Explore all biomes: Each area has unique resources. The desert biome, for example, contains rare herbs not found in forests.
