Understanding the Unlock System

MECCHA CHAMELEON is a multiplayer hide-and-seek game where you play as a chameleon. You start with a basic white body and must paint yourself to blend into your surroundings. The unlock order is tied to your progression through matches, experience points, and in-game currency. Unlike traditional level-based games, this title uses a performance-driven system. The more you survive and trick seekers, the faster you unlock new content.

Your first few games will be limited to basic color palettes and simple stages. As you earn experience, you will gradually gain access to more complex patterns, additional maps, and special abilities. Understanding this unlock order helps you plan your early matches efficiently.

Initial Unlocks: Colors and Basic Patterns

When you first start MECCHA CHAMELEON, you have access to a small set of primary colors: red, blue, yellow, and green. These are enough to blend into simple backgrounds. Your first goal is to unlock the secondary color palette (orange, purple, cyan) by surviving for a total of 10 minutes across any matches.

After reaching 10 minutes of survival time, you also unlock the Striped Pattern. This pattern is useful for backgrounds with lines or grids. To unlock the Spotted Pattern, you need to successfully evade capture 5 times in a single match. This encourages you to practice your hiding and movement skills early on.

Map Unlock Order

MECCHA CHAMELEON features several stages that unlock as you gain experience. The initial map is The Gallery, a simple room with white walls and a few paintings. After reaching level 5, you unlock The Playground, which has colorful equipment and grass. This map introduces more complex color matching.

At level 10, The Laboratory becomes available. This map features metallic surfaces and neon lights, requiring you to use metallic and glow-in-the-dark colors. Finally, at level 20, you unlock The Carnival, a large outdoor map with many moving elements. The unlock order ensures you learn basic techniques before facing more challenging environments.

Unlocking Game Modes

The game starts with the standard Classic Mode, where one seeker hunts multiple hiders. After winning 3 matches as a hider, you unlock Hide and Seek Mode, which allows you to switch roles mid-game. Winning 5 matches as a seeker unlocks Timed Mode, where you have a limited time to find all hiders.

For team play, you must reach level 15 to unlock Team Battle Mode. This mode divides players into two teams, each trying to hide from the opposing team's seekers. The final mode, Streamer Mode, is unlocked by playing 10 matches in any mode. This mode includes special features for content creators.

Ability and Power-Up Unlocks

Abilities are special actions that help you survive or catch hiders. The first ability, Speed Boost, unlocks at level 3. It allows you to move faster for a short time. Camouflage Mastery, which reduces your visibility, unlocks at level 7. At level 12, you gain Decoy Creation, letting you leave a fake image behind.

Power-ups appear on maps but require unlocking to use. The Shield Power-Up unlocks after collecting 10 power-ups in total. The Radar Power-Up, which reveals nearby hiders, unlocks at level 18. Finally, the Invisibility Power-Up is the last unlock, available at level 25.

Progression Tips for Efficient Unlocking

To unlock content quickly, focus on survival time first. Play defensively in early matches to accumulate minutes. Use the basic colors to blend into simple backgrounds like walls or floors. Avoid moving too much, as seekers often spot movement.

Once you unlock new patterns, practice using them on appropriate maps. For example, use the Striped Pattern on The Laboratory's metal grates. Participate in all available modes to earn experience faster. Team Battle Mode gives bonus experience for cooperation. Remember that the unlock order is designed to teach you the game's mechanics gradually.
